WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A record was broken at Brooks Field as the UNCW Seahawks cruised to victory over Campbell on Sunday 14-7.
Sophomore Infielder Tanner Thach set the UNCW single-season home run record with his 22nd home run on Sunday. Thach did so on a three-run homer in the bottom of the eight inning, while also recording three hits, scoring four and knocking in four. All this and more led to the Seahawks sweeping the three game home series against Campbell and improving to (32-16;17-4) on the season.
UNCW became the first school in CAA history to earn a conference playoff berth in all 38 CAA tournaments.
The Seahawks will take on Charleston Southern on May 7th in their final non-conference road game of the season.
